One of the most useful things to have when you are keeping crickets is egg cartons and/or cardboard rolls (such as paper towel rolls). Egg cartons make a great home for crickets and provide extra space in the container. It is important that crickets have enough space or they may begin to act aggressively towards one another and may even start to eat each other. Below are a couple of tips on how and what you can use the egg cartons for!
Save yourself time and effort in the future by pulling off the tips of the egg carton. The crickets like to hide up in there where it is dark but it can be difficult to get them out.
Sitting your egg cartons sideways will allow the cricket poo and any other mess to fall to the floor of the container. This will make it easier for you to clean the container later and your egg cartons will last longer.
The top of the egg cartons isn't really much use to the crickets for housing but you can easily turn it into a food bowl that you can throw away when it gets dirty.
